This small flat was totally reconfigured to create an open living space with the kitchen island as the centre focus of the home. With sliding panels, movable table top and conceal doors, the living area can be transformed for changing functions of dining, cooking, entertaining and display of contemporary photo collection. A simple color palette of cool gray and white defines the floor, wall and ceiling, while a row of linear light at floor level opposes a row of linear light at ceiling level to create the sense of lightness within this white and grey volume.

The Master bedroom has an open glass-box charcoal grey bathroom, which acts as the divider between the elevated platform bed and the all-white study room. Consistent linear lights above the full length wardrobe and storage space are also used as the connector for the bedroom and the study. The 3rd room is used as the reading sanctuary for the owner’s enormous book collection. A chaise lounge is placed at the centre of the room surrounded with Vitsoe bookshelves and a custom-designed linear mirror stainless steel wall light for an interesting angled reflection.
